My sister brought home a giant cinnamon roll from Devil’s Teeth Baking Company. It was soo good. Not too sweet with a crunchy bottom. And now, I’m so tempted to try to make my own cinnamon rolls.
Broiled Honey Grapefruits
Grapefruits drizzled with honey and sprinkled with cinnamon or chili powder then broiled. These broiled honey grapefruits are great for breakfast or as an afternoon snack.
Okay, I’m almost embarrassed to post this as a recipe because it’s sooo easy to make. But hey, not everyone grills their fruits, and not everyone broils their fruits, so I had to share =)
Grapefruits are one of those “love it or hate it” kind of foods. Some people love the contrasting flavor of sweetness and bitterness in grapefruits, and others don’t. And that’s all okay because we all have our likes and dislikes.
But one of my favorite ways to eat grapefruit is by broiling them.
Honey Chipotle Shredded Chicken
Chicken breasts marinated in a spicy honey chipotle sauce. This honey chipotle shredded chicken tastes amazing on its own or added to your salads and sandwiches.
Oh, I think I have the perfect recipe to share with you guys today!
I’m always looking for recipes that I can use for other dishes too. It saves so much time when you can use one dish and pair it with so many others. And this honey chipotle shredded chicken does just that!
While it’s super easy to make and prepare, it does require a little bit of planning ahead because you have to allow the chicken to marinade and the flavor to develop. But trust me, the wait is sooo worth it! You can quickly put it together the night before or even toss everything together in the morning before work or school. It’s seriously easy! Just 5-7 minutes of your time!
Once you try this honey chipotle chicken, you’ll want to make it ahead so that you can add to your salads, to your sandwiches, to your tacos, and pretty much whatever you like. I like to keep the leftover chicken in the fridge so that if I need to whip up something quick, I can just add the chicken to some of my dishes.

I am so missing the holidays right now. I mean, from October on, there are so many holidays and festivities to look forward to. Then after New Year’s Day, I feel like we’re in a drought of holidays. I mean, there’s summer to look forward to, but it’s not the same as the winter holidays.
But we’re so close to Valentine’s Day. Are you guys making plans yet?
Life of a Wallflower, 27 – New Orleans
I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve done one of these updates.
Last month, I traveled to New Orleans for the weekend for my cousin’s wedding. I flew in on Friday and came back to SF on Monday. A weekend is definitely not enough to fully enjoy New Orleans, but we tried to fit as much as we could in those couple days.
So that you guys know, this is going to be a photo heavy post =)
I love that we can turn on our phones now on the airplane. How else could I take photos like this?
Roasted Garlic Broccolini
Roasted broccolini with minced garlic lightly seasoned with salt and pepper. Simple to make, this roasted garlic broccolini is the perfect side for your main dish.
A few months ago, after I attended a friend’s wedding in Sonoma County, some of my friends and I headed to Farmstead in St Helena for dinner. Every dish that I tried, I really ended up enjoying and over the past few months, I’ve tried to replicate some of those dishes at home. Like these Cheddar Biscuits with Honey Butter or this Extra Crispy Roasted Potatoes with Sriracha Mayo and this Farmstead inspired Creamy Gnocchi with Seasonal Vegetables. Because as much as I love Farmstead, driving at least an hour from SF is a little too far for dinner.
Another one of my favorite dishes was this side of roasted broccolini. I know that it’s super simple, but sometimes, simplicity is what makes a dish so great. You can appreciate the flavor and the texture without all extra seasoning and sauces.
This broccolini is roasted for about 12-14 minutes with minced garlic and lightly seasoned with salt and pepper. Just a few ingredients, but that’s really all you need.
You can pair the broccolini with your favorite pasta dish, or steak, or porkchop, or chicken, or salmon. Honestly, it doesn’t matter. This roasted garlic broccolini will work with whatever you’re eating =)
5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake
A decadent chocolate cake made in a mug for a quick and easy dessert that requires no baking. This 5 minute chocolate mug cake is perfect for those lazy nights in.
For those of you without an oven. For those of you who want single servings of chocolate dessert. This one is for you. =)
Who doesn’t love being able to make chocolate cake in just 5 minutes? I know I do.
I have those days when I’m craving something chocolaty. Probably more often than not. I’m a self proclaimed chocoholic.

As a belated Christmas present, my sister bought me a bottle of Black Truffle Salt. We actually sampled it together several months ago at the Stonehouse Olive Oil store in the Ferry Building. If you get the chance, mix together Black Truffle Salt with olive oil and then dip bread in it. Soo good! And terrible for me, because it’s one of those times when I’m pretty sure I can finish an entire loaf of bread of my own.

Spring salad mix tossed with fresh pomegranate, dried cranberries, and feta crumbles then drizzled with poppy seed dressing. This pomegranate cranberry salad with feta cheese is the perfect side salad for any dish.
I’m a huge fan of colorful salads if you can’t already tell from all my previous posts. I love the mixture of different leafy greens with fruits, nuts, and cheese. It makes your average salad so much more exciting.
I think they go well with almost everything, at least, in my opinion. You can eat these colorful salads on their own, or you can pair them with your favorite meal.
Drizzled with poppy seed dressing, this pomegranate cranberry salad with feta cheese is absolutely delicious and takes just 5 minutes to throw together. How much easier can it get?
