Happy Sunday!

I hope you’re having a great weekend!

I can’t believe it’s raining again! I know I live in SF, and I know that our summer technically isn’t until September and October, but still! I was enjoying the nice warmish weather while it was here. And I am sooo not ready for the overcast skies and cold fog.

But let’s talk about this peach caprese salad. It’s colorful, it’s fresh, and it’s soo deliciously flavorful.

Last weekend, I went to the farmer’s market specifically to buy… peaches.

So many peaches for such a good price. I just couldn’t resist.

Aren’t these so pretty?

So now, I have so many ripe peaches waiting to be eaten and used in recipes. You can expect to see plenty of peach recipes in the weeks to come.

Destination: Carmel-by-the-Sea

“Adventure is worthwhile in itself.” – Amelia Earhart

Carmel-by-the-Sea is one of the cutest coastal towns I’ve been to. Beaches with white sand, lots of little boutiques, and houses that resemble cottages. You feel like you’re in a different world.

Guess what tomorrow is?

It’s National Cheesecake Day!

I have to admit that it’s my favorite non-official food holiday. Mostly because cheesecakes are half off at the Cheesecake Factory, and partly because I know they always debut a new flavor on July 30th. It’s become a yearly thing for me, my cousins, and my sisters. We like to order a few appetizers to share, and then we each get our own slices of cheesecake.

This year? They’re debuting the Celebration Cheesecake, and it looks soo pretty. Just like a funfetti birthday cake but in cheesecake form. I seriously need to try a slice. Do you have a favorite cheesecake?

Last Sunday, I attended my friend’s bridal shower at Leland Tea Company in the downtown Burlingame area.

Isn’t the place setting so pretty? The bridesmaids helped put together the decorations and the flowers. Everything was so whimsical and rustic.

Happy Sunday!

The best part about summer is that I have an abundance of peaches and nectarines waiting to be eaten. I buy so many at the farmer’s market over the weekends. I feel they taste so much better than the ones from the supermarket. But sometimes I buy too many, and I can’t finish them in time, especially since I like my stone fruits firm rather than soft and ripe. Once it becomes ripe, it’s perfect for smoothies and recipes.

Do you like your peaches and nectarines firm or soft? And while I’m asking anyway, do you prefer peaches or nectarines? Yellow or white?

I love both.

Over the weekend, we went exploring in the Marin Headlands. We’ve been looking for new places to explore and hike around the SF Bay. After a short hike, we went for a late lunch at Scoma’s of Sausalito. I love how the restaurant looks like it’s hovering over the water.
