Omg! There’s just two more days until Thanksgiving, and I feel like there’s still so much to do. I went grocery shopping over the weekend to try to avoid the crowds and ridiculously long lines, but it was unavoidable. Plus, some of the ingredients I’m looking for are already out of stock. So even though I tried to get ahead with my shopping list, I have no choice but to go back out there and pick up a few more items.

We’re thinking this year we want the usual mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, garlic bread, pumpkin pie, brownies. But this year, we’re also adding my honey pear pie, my green bean casserole, and my roasted brussels sprouts. What will you be serving at your Thanksgiving table this year?

This pie <3

I’ve been thinking about this pie for awhile now. For many different reasons.

Honey Pear Pie | Cooking with a Wallflower

When most of us think about fall desserts, our first thoughts are of pumpkin and apples and even cranberries. Pears seem to be forgotten. And it seems like such a shame, especially since pears have the most amazing flavors and texture when baked.

For this pie, I wanted to keep it simple so that the flavor of pear can stand out on its own. I love the crispness of fresh pears baked in a buttery crust, the caramelized honey bubbling through the weave of the lattice top, the crunch of the coarse sugar sprinkled on top of the crust. What is there not to love?

My sister and I went to the Museum of Ice Cream the other day. We were both so excited since we heard so much about it prior to going. As fun as it was, I kind of expected more from it. Probably because of all the hype.

But here are some photos from the Museum of Ice Cream. We got to try different types of ice cream and got a brain freeze. I think my favorite was the sprinkle pool. I found sprinkles in my pockets, socks, and everywhere possible.

Roundup

Favorite Thanksgiving Dishes 2017

Less than a week left until Thanksgiving, and there’s still so much planning to do. It just really hit me yesterday that Thanksgiving is next week. That means I’m going to have to start shopping for ingredients because I promised myself I’m going to try to stay ahead this year. I don’t want to have to run to the local supermarket for that one ingredient that I’m missing, which seems to happen every year. Somehow we always end up waiting in a super long line for that one ingredient we forgot.

I thought I’d share with you a few of my favorite Thanksgiving dishes in case you still need ideas. =)

I sometimes wish I had more time or at the very least, find a way to slow down time so that I can savor the short fall season just a little longer.

Can you believe it?! Time goes by so fast!

So of course, we have to celebrate with dessert. Again!

Last year, it was with these apple cider doughnuts with maple glaze. And the year before that, we celebrated with mason jar lid apple crumble. And this year, we’re celebrating with this apple cobbler à la mode. Because as amazing as any dessert is, it’s even better with ice cream. But… Are you seeing a pattern?

I swear, it’s not on purpose! Lol. But somehow, apples have been the theme each year.
