If you’ve been following me on my Instagram stories, where I like to add behind the scene videos and photos, you probably already know just how much I love it. Mostly because I couldn’t stop talking about it. Or taking pics of it. Or posting about it. I couldn’t help it!

Why? Because every single bite you take of this ice cream will be bursting with blueberries. So if you’re a fan of blueberries, which I obviously am, then you’re going to love this ice cream.

Happy Sunday!

I hope you’re enjoying your weekend with lots of warmth and sunshine.

It’s been such a relaxing last few days since one of the offices I work at is closed for vacation. So I’ve been in the kitchen testing out brand new recipes as well as thinking of revamping old ones from the archives. And I can’t wait to share them with you soon. <3 In the meantime, you can find some sneak peeks on Instagram.

Last weekend I went to the first Norcal Night Market in the Bay Area. There was so much hype around the event and the line up looked soo good. But there were so many people at the night market it was impossible to move around. Lines for every vendor were about an hour long each just to order and then another 15-20 minutes wait for the food.

Spam Musubi

Oh wells. It wasn’t too bad for a first ever event in the Bay Area. Sadly, this isn’t the worst event I’ve been to. lol. On the bright side, I got to try spam musubi topped with Hot Cheetos crumbs. It’s not spicy enough for me, but it’s soo good.

Happy August!

Seriously, I can’t believe that it’s already August! And summer is already starting to come to an end. Not that it really started in San Francisco. Not yet anyway. Our summer doesn’t actually begin until September. And then it jumps right into fall. So if you want to visit our city when it’s not covered in fog or feel like you’re freezing, come during September or October. It’s our summer months.

Strawberry Almond Butter Bread | Cooking with a Wallflower

I’ve been so busy all of July with dinners and events and work. I’m kind of excited to see that my schedule for August isn’t as packed. That means more days to relax and sleep in. More time to plan and cook. Just more time to do whatever I want. And more time for you. So relieved to be able to step back a little and enjoy life without all the hustle.

Happy Sunday! I hope you had a great weekend!

I’ve been excitedly waiting for this weekend because of the Nor Cal Night Market in Pleasanton. It’s kinda far for me, but the idea of nearly 100 food vendors from all the over the Bay Area gathering in one place and selling their best sellers is just too tempting for me to resist. Sooo…. I’m planning to go. Lol.

In the mean time, let’s talk about this chipotle ranch chicken pasta salad. I’ve been obsessed with pasta salads lately, mostly because they’re so simple to make and so delicious. They’re also super easy to pack to bring with to a picnic or to a summer BBQ.

Last weekend my cousins and I went to the Sacramento State Fair. There was just so much to see and so much to eat! I’m not a fan of rides. I don’t like that feeling of my stomach dropping. So I skip rides. Lol. But the food and the games? Yes!

So… I went into the petting zoo to feed the animals. This goat gnawed on my dress earlier and then later a deer stuck its head under my dress. I found out later that I shouldn’t wear a dress or anything floral into the petting zoo because that’s what happens. Oops.

I had my first funnel cake! It was sooo good. I’ve been missing out all these years.

And we couldn’t leave without getting a pineapple Dole Whip. Sooo good and refreshing, especially on a hot summer day.

This weekend is the last weekend for the Sacramento State Fair. If you get the chance, go! But maybe go later in the day so that it’s much cooler.

Over the weekend, I was in Sacramento for the California State Fair, and it was so ridiculously hot. I mean, I guess I should be grateful that it was in the 90’s and not over 100F, like the usual for a summer day in Sacramento. But…. since I’m a San Francisco girl through and through, it felt as though I was melting from the heat.

Happy Sunday! How is your weekend?

I’m headed inland this weekend to Sacramento for the California State Fair. I have never been to the state fair, or county fair, before so I’m really excited to see all the unusual carnival foods that everyone talks about. Actually…. I’m not sure if I’ll want to try everything. Lol. Deep fried everything seems a little overwhelming. And the heat. It’s supposed to be in the 90’s, which I honestly am not used to anymore since I live in San Francisco now.

While I’m out melting away in the heat, I’d like to share these matcha rice crispy treats with you.

My cousin and I visited a brand new dessert place in the Castro area of SF called U: Dessert Story. It’s actually a new branch of one of my favorite brunch places: Sweet Maple. Everything at U: Dessert Story is Instagram worthy, from the decor of the store to the way the desserts are plated.

We ordered the Chocolate Matcha Lava Cake. The cake itself was super chocolatey with matcha oozing out from the center when cut. We also ordered the Thai Tea Crepe Cake, which has layers of thin crepes with cream in between. The crepe cake was drizzled with a Thai tea sauce and served with more sauce on the side.

We’re already more than halfway through July!

Summer is passing by super ridiculously fast this year. Maybe it’s because every few days I have something planned. It is definitely starting to take it’s toll. But I love that there’s always something to look forward to.
