It’s pomegranate season! As much as I love autumn, there’s not as many fruits as in the spring and summer. But one of my favorites is pomegranate. There’s something about the bright red color that just adds a little festiveness to everything.

Happy Wednesday!

Have you noticed that Thanksgiving arrives earlier this year? Just a little over two weeks left. It’s these weeks leading up to the holidays that can often times be stressful. But it’s also pretty fun. I can already feel the holiday season in the air. Is that even possible? Lol.

Life of a Wallflower

Celebrating 5 Years + a Giveaway

“Fail every single day until you figure out that path to success. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the multiple failures that caused me to learn and grow and change.” – Mel Robbins

Celebrating 5 Years

Can you believe that today marks the 5th anniversary of this blog? Five years ago, I clicked publish on the very first post for this blog. Five years ago, this blog was born from failure, from what had felt like the worst part of my life. But almost a year after and nearly every moment since then, I’ve been thankful for that failure. Because without that defining moment, I would not be where I am today. I would not be in love with the life that I live and lead.

Did you have a wonderful Halloween? I didn’t dress up in a costume or anything. I haven’t in years, but…. I found other ways to celebrate. lol.

Donuts

Have you ever been to Mr. Holmes Bakehouse in San Francisco? Or in Los Angeles? They’re well known for their cruffins. But since their cruffins come out at a certain time every day, I can’t really get them if I have work. However, their donuts are just as amazing. So for Halloween, I stopped by for their dark chocolate ganache donut with a shot of blood orange. It’s sooo good.

Happy Halloween!

Are you guys going out for Halloween? I’m honestly not much of a Halloween kind of person. I don’t think I’ve dressed up for Halloween in years. Lol. Maybe it’s because I don’t really like being scared. But I do miss the days when I lived at my grandma’s house and we had trick-or-treaters ringing the doorbell for candy. In the city, not so much. Maybe it’s the hills or the apartments or the cold. Who knows?

Anyways, let’s talk about these pumpkin spice overnight oats.

It doesn’t get more fall in the city than visiting a pumpkin patch. Last weekend, a few of us decided to go to a local pumpkin patch with my friend’s one year old daughter. I wasn’t really there to shop for pumpkins, but it was fun to browse anyways. This particular pumpkin patch had a petting zoo, hamster balls, and a mini train to take kids around the pumpkin patch.

Happy Wednesday!

Just one more week until Halloween. And guess what starts this weekend?! Countdown to Christmas on Hallmark Channel. Okay, okay. I know it’s still October. But you guys know by now that I’m obsessed with Hallmark Christmas movies. I don’t care how predictable the storyline is. They’re still ridiculously addictive to watch. Lol.

Anyways, I thought today I’d share with you something simple and easy to make. Mostly because it’s been somewhat stressful the last few weeks, and I just need some simplicity in my life. There’s almost no work needed to prepare for this dish. And the seasoning is super simple too.

Happy Sunday!

I hope you had a great weekend. It’s been a chaotic few days and I’m kind of ready for a low key day filled with absolutely no plans. Most of the time, that’s a lot harder to do than it sounds. I feel like I’m always running around doing something on my day off.

But I’m excited that we’re really diving into fall. We’re quickly approaching the end of October, and it’s starting to feel like fall in San Francisco. The sunlight is starting to have a golden glow. The crisp air. The dry leaves on the ground. The sun setting earlier and earlier each day. <– Don’t love that. lol. But every day brings us closer to the holidays, which I honestly can’t wait for.
