About a month ago, I stumbled across Baker Doe’s Instagram page and discovered some of the prettiest bicolor croissants I’ve ever seen. Okay, so maybe it was the first time I’ve ever seen bicolor croissants. But I really really wanted to try them. Unfortunately, to order these croissants for Sunday delivery, you have to be quick because it’s on a first come first serve basis.

Croissants

I finally got my hands on a dozen of these croissants last weekend. And they did not disappoint. I ordered duck yolk lava custard croissants topped with cookie crumbles, pink guava bicolor croissants, pandan coconut double baked croissants, and a dulce de leche danish with caramel and chocolate shards. I can’t decide which I like better: the duck yolk lava custard croissants, which are like the yolk buns you get at dim sum, or the coconut pandan double baked croissants.

It’s starting to feel like fall in the city. The weather has started to cool down. And we just had our first rain of the season. Is it cool where you are or is it still summery?

The weather has been absolutely perfect these past few weeks in San Francisco. It’s not too hot, not too cold. We’ve had daily sunny clear blue skies with only fog at night which burns off by early morning. It’s the perfect time for visiting.

I was standing in Russian Hill and had the most amazing views of the city. You can see Coit Tower in the distance.

Have you ever seen these Mexican sour gherkins? I found these at the farmer’s market the other weekend, and they look like tiny little watermelons. But in actuality, the inside is like cucumber and the flavor is slightly tart.

Have you been strawberry picking before?

If you haven’t, now would be the perfect time to do it. Strawberries are in season so you better hurry before they’re all picked for the season. Ever since I went strawberry picking over the 4th of July weekend, I’ve been obsessed with sharing the idea with everyone. Lol. So if you haven’t gone, you really need to go.

Strawberry Picking

Strawberries picked fresh from the farms are so much sweeter than the ones you buy from the supermarket, and sometimes even the ones you get from the farmer’s market. Now I just need to find a farm where I can pick fresh strawberries that’s closer to the city. =)

Destination: Discovering Colorado – Day 1

Less than two weeks ago, my family and I traveled to Denver for my cousin’s graduation. Since I have never been to Denver before, I thought it would be the perfect time to explore Denver and the surrounding area. It was such a fun few days, and now I really want to go back.

Discovering Colorado - Day 1

I took so many pictures while in Denver so I’m splitting the trip into different days. =)

It’s Tuesday! It’s Tuesday! Happy Tuesday!

Sometimes, I kind of wish all weeks start on Tuesdays. Maybe it’s because Mondays were always the first day of school. And it still has that sort of connotation for me. But when my week starts on a Tuesday, it’s a lot closer to the weekend.

So, as you probably know, since I’ve been complaining for the last two weeks (sorry!), I’ve been out sick with a cold. Coughs, sniffles, sore throat. I sounded so raspy! So glad that’s all over with now. And while I still did all the things I normally do, it took a lot longer to do anything. Especially cooking and working. All I ever wanted to do was sleep, drink tea, and eat soup.

And I had soo many different types of soups the last two weeks. It’s all I wanted. Don’t worry.  I’m slowly going to share them with you. You’ll want these recipes to keep you warm through the rest of winter. Or if you’re recovering from a cold, like I was.

It’s been raining soo much lately. If it’s not raining, it’s super cold, and dark, and gloomy. But, it’s said to be storming this weekend in the Bay Area. Which would be perfect for hot tea and a good book. Or maybe hot chocolate?

What are you doing this weekend?
