Cooking with a Wallflower

Recommendations Wallflower Weekly Faves

Wallflower Weekly Finds, 199

Last weekend, my family and I went to Candytopia, another pop up museum in the city. If you’ve been to the Museum of Ice Cream or the Color Factory, this is pretty similar.

I loved that there were so many different artwork and sculptures made of candy. There are placards next to the art piece telling you what candies were used, how many, how much time it took to make, and how much sugar is in each piece of art.

This dragon was amazing and of course, made of candy. Everything can be touched and/or interactive, which makes it even better.

I thought I would start my first recipe post with a warm comforting soup. Because it’s a soup kind of weather. It’s been sooo cold lately, which is to be expected for the winter, but still! I’m freezing. Plus, it’s supposed to rain in a few days, so I’m all about the warm cozy foods.

2018 Recipe Fails

It’s that time of year! There’s only a few days left of 2018, which means it’s time to wrap a few things up. Let’s start with my 2018 recipe fails.

2018 Recipe Fails | Cooking with a Wallflower

Obviously, when it comes to recipes, I only share the best photos and the best version of my recipes. Except if you follow me on Instagram. Lol. Then you get to see my mistakes as I make them in the kitchen. You may have seen that earlier this year I melted a spatula trying to make green onion pancakes. And that, just a few weeks ago, I forgot the bacon in the oven, baked them to crispy chips, and set off the smoke detector. The day before Thanksgiving.

Yeah…. It doesn’t always work out as planned in the kitchen. Lol.

Have you heard of the Russian River Brewing Company? Some of its beers are well known and supposed to be the best in the country. I’m personally not a fan of beer, which explains why a tasting flight of beer didn’t quite impress me.

We ordered pizza with all the fixings, chicken wings, and a flight of 12 beers. I did end up buying Pliny the Elder since it’s one of the most popular beers they offer.
