Omg! This apple pear cider!

I’ve been waiting to share this with you for awhile now, but I thought it’d be better to wait until we got closer to Thanksgiving. That way, you can enjoy this cider during your family festivities. Or maybe have a glass while you’re cooking? I definitely would.

Apples and pears have always been one of my favorite combinations of fall flavors. But for some reason, you don’t often see them together.

We’re remedying that this fall.

It’s already mid November, and there’s only one and a half weeks left until Thanksgiving. What!

I’m soo not ready for fall to be over yet. What am I going to do without all my squashes? Or my maple syrup? Or my pumpkin pie spice?

But luckily there’s still a little time left to enjoy all things fall.

Last weekend, my schedule was so packed with activities, but it was so much fun!

My friend got married at the J.W. Marriott just off of Union Square in SF on Saturday evening, and her wedding was so soo gorgeous. Just look at this wedding cake! Isn’t it so romantic?

And the best part? She had a petit four station and an ice cream sundae bar station, where you make your own sundaes! You get to pick from three different ice cream flavors: chocolate chip, lemon, and double chocolate. Then you get to top it with a huge selection of goodies.

Seriously, the lines for dessert were soo long but definitely worth it.

Happy Wednesday!

I am soo not used to Daylight Savings yet. I love the idea of waking up and going to work with the sun already up, but I don’t love leaving the office at six and finding it completely dark outside. It’s the only downside of fall in my eyes. Everything else <3 Does anyone else feel the same way?

You guys, you guys, you guys!

I’m excited!

Since fall is my favorite season, I just had to create a warm drink filled with all the flavors that are associated with this picturesque season! But I don’t think that comes as a surprise.

One of the first things on my to do list this fall was to make one of my favorite drinks, hot chocolate, and pair it with the flavors of fall, pumpkin. But this rich and decadent hot chocolate isn’t just pumpkin pie spice flavored, it actually has pumpkin puree, and so does the whipped cream.

Pumpkin pie spice whipped cream! How could I resist?

Then I topped my hot chocolate and whipped cream with pumpkin pie sauce and more pumpkin pie spice.

Did I go overboard? Nope! I don’t think so.

Wallflower Weekly Finds, 91

This weekend is going to be another activity filled weekend. One of my friends is getting married on Saturday evening. Then another friend wants to celebrate her birthday at Trapped in a Room with a Zombie, one of those Escape Room games. I’m hoping I won’t get nightmares from being chased by a zombie. Has anyone ever played those real life Escape Room puzzle games? I’ve never been, and I’m oddly nervous about it. lol

Also, before I forget, you’ll want to come back on Saturday! This Saturday will officially be three years since I started this blog!

romanesco

Have you ever gone to the farmer’s market, browse the stalls, and realize that there are some vegetables or fruits that you’ve never seen at the supermarket before?

Think pineapple guava, feijoa blossoms, romanesco, and all those varieties of apples, pears, and peaches that go beyond the few that you see at the grocery store.

I’ve decided that when I come across a new vegetable or new fruit, I’m going to give it a try. Might as well, right? I’m not as adventurous about meat. I only eat the ones I’ve eaten before. But new vegetables and fruits? Definitely.

So you as you can probably tell, romanesco will appear on the blog sometime soon =)

magnolia-journal

I stumbled across Chip and Joanna Gaines’ The Magnolia Story earlier this week and simply loved reading their story. It’s easy to read and I feel that you get to experience their story firsthand.

I also got a hold of the premier issue of Magnolia Journal.

Can you tell that I’m a fan?

It’s November! It’s November!

Which means I can officially start the countdown to the holidays and not sound weird. Just four Thursdays until Thanksgiving and eight Sundays until Christmas!

I seriously love this time of the year. It’s not just about the food, which I absolutely love, especially since there are some dishes that you only eat this time of the year, or the presents, which I won’t deny that I also look forward to (who doesn’t, right?).  I think what I love most about the holiday season is that for the most part, there’s so much positivity. People are in a more giving spirit; families gather together. There just seems to be more reasons to celebrate.

So to start the holiday season off, I wanted to share with you this amazingly simple yet delicious sparkling cranberry pomegranate limeade.
