My sisters and I had lunch the other day at KoJa Kitchen. This place started out as a food truck and eventually expanded to become a permanent restaurant. They serve Korean and Japanese comfort food. You know, KoJa. Korean Japanese. And the most intriguing was that their burgers come with rice buns.

At first look, it seems small in size. But it’s actually really filling. This was the Korean BBQ Chicken KoJa. Soo good. And definitely a once in awhile indulgence.

I’m a huge fan of colorful salads if you can’t already tell from all my previous posts. I love the mixture of different leafy greens with fruits, nuts, and cheese. It makes your average salad so much more exciting.

I think they go well with almost everything, at least, in my opinion. You can eat these colorful salads on their own, or you can pair them with your favorite meal.

Drizzled with poppy seed dressing, this pomegranate cranberry salad with feta cheese is absolutely delicious and takes just 5 minutes to throw together. How much easier can it get?

Oh! I hope you’ve recovered from your Thanksgiving feast and any Black Friday shopping you might have done. I’m just slowly coming out of my food coma.

We had soo much food, many of which were a combination of Asian cuisine and traditional American cuisine. In other words, we had chow mein, jelly fish salad, hot and sour soup, and che Thai, a dessert made of fruit cocktails and half and half. That also means we get to have a quiche filled with kale, artichoke, sun-dried tomatoes, and mushrooms. And an apple cranberry pie, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, garlic bread, and turkey with gravy. All buffet style because we just don’t have a table long enough to seat all of us.

I love coming out from work and seeing this pretty sunset lighting up the sky.

I wonder if anyone thought it was weird that I stopped in the middle of the parking lot at Safeway with my phone aimed upwards.

No worries. I looked before I stopped at the side of a car to take this photo.

If I didn’t feel so guilty eating thick cut bacon, I would totally eat this Blackstone Benedict from Sweet Maple every day. Thick cut bacon baked with brown sugar and red and black pepper on top of egg benedicts? So delish and highly recommended.

Life of a Wallflower

Life of a Wallflower, 16 – Filoli

The other day my friend, Shirley, and I went to the Filoli estate in Woodside, about 30 miles south of San Francisco.

Filoli | Cooking with a Wallflower

Before I share photos from my visit, I have to confess that I absolutely love history. Some people might find it boring, but I love learning about how people lived in the past. Seeing historical artifacts, or objects that belong to people in the past, allow my imagination to run wild. I can picture the people going through their everyday lives, getting ready for parties or debut balls. I love hearing the stories that come with the house or the silverware, or the painting. Does anyone else feel the same way?
