It is so ridiculously difficult to go back to work after vacation.

During Labor Day weekend, my sister and I went to Southern California to celebrate her birthday.

Our trip was filled with lots of food, of course. But the best part was visiting Universal Studios for the first time in over 10 years. And! We got to see the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

I think I could have stayed in that part of the theme park forever.

The buildings were so detailed. And it just felt magical, especially if you enter Hogwarts to ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.

I’ll share more photos at a later time. I still have to sort through all of them!

Wallflower Weekly Finds, 61

Last weekend, I finally had the chance to go back to the Farmer’s Market at the SF Ferry Building.

And guess what I found? Lots of asparagus and artichoke. <3

But what really caught my attention? These gorgeous purple asparagus.

I really wanted to buy them, but at $7 a bunch, I wasn’t sure it was worth the price. Maybe next time.

Oh my god. I cannot tell you how much I’m in love with the new Oreo Thins. It’s really really bad. At least with the regular ones, I know they’re terrible for me so I stop eating after 2-3 cookies. But the Oreo thins are so much harder to stop eating. More cookie, less cream. I’m in trouble. lol. This isn’t even a sponsored post. I’m just really addicted.

Life of a Wallflower, 26 – Napa Valley

You guys, you guys, you guys!

I have so many photos to share with you. And when I say so many, I mean like dozens.

You have no idea how excited I was about this two day trip to Napa Valley.

I’ve been so exhausted trying to keep up with working 4-6 days as a dental hygienist and writing for my blog every other day. As much as I love doing what I do, I needed a break to regroup and become inspired again. Although I’ve lived in San Francisco my entire life, minus a few years while I was away at school, I have never been up north where the wineries and vineyards are. It’s really only an hour, maybe an hour and a half away with traffic, but we just never went.

So of course, we had to remedy that. My cousins, sisters, and I did a group trip to Southern California last summer. However, this year our schedules were too different. So we decided to take a short trip to wine country for a little mini getaway. Rather than go during busy weekends, we took two days off of work and went on a Tuesday.

Now I want to share this amazing trip with you through photos. I rarely take my camera out of the house so bear with me while I learn how to adjust the settings to take these photos. Some are amazing and others not so much. But it was a great way to learn how to use my camera. So a fair warning, this post will be heavy with photos.

And if you get the chance, you should really really go. I highly recommend making this a vacation destination.

Tomato Basil Grilled Cheese Sandwich

I’ve been craving a grilled cheese sandwich for awhile now. But melted cheese between two slices of buttered bread didn’t seem enough to fulfill my cravings. I wanted something extra, something soo good that my mouth waters just thinking about it. I wanted something fit to be a meal. So why not take it up a notch and add fresh ingredients to give this grilled cheese sandwich a healthy-ish twist?

Each bite of this grilled cheese sandwich is so tasty and refreshing. Filled with slices of fresh cut tomatoes, the strong fragrance and taste of basil, pesto, and melted cheese, how can you resist? I definitely can’t. From the crunchiness of the bread, whether toasted or set on a grill, to the juicy tomatoes, this sandwich has so much flavor and texture. Comfort food with a healthy twist.

It’s super easy to make! Just put all the ingredients together, smush them down, and grill/toast the sandwich until the cheese has melted.
