It’s officially summer! I don’t know what it’s like where you are, but it’s still kinda cold in SF. Then again, the weather and the temperature is kind of the same all year around in SF with several days of exception. What I do love is seeing all the wildflowers that are growing everywhere, especially near the beach.

You have no idea how much I’m looking forward to today. This past week has been super busy for me with six days of work. And I am completely exhausted. lol.
So today is actually my first day off with almost nothing to do. Almost. And I am savoring every single moment. Because it looks like my summer weekends are practically packed with activities. So any day, honestly, any moment, really, that I have free, I am definitely savoring.

Last weekend, my sisters and I went to a food event at the SF Ferry Building. It was so much fun with so many different vendors, wineries, and breweries present. So much good food to try. If you ever get the chance to go to an event like that, definitely go at least once. The likelihood that I would go to all those fine dining restaurants on my own is slim, so having all these restaurants there and sampling their food was just amazing. I loved tasting all the flavors of the season.

It’s that time of year!
For some reason, as soon as it hits June, my schedule suddenly feels like it’s heavy with all sorts of events. Sometimes it’s birthdays, sometimes it’s weddings, sometimes it’s a family barbecue. There’s just so much going on! Do you feel the same way?
To make it easier on all of us, I thought I’d prepare an easy go to recipe for you. Just in case you need an idea for your next summer gathering.

Happy Sunday!
I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend filled with warm weather and sunny days.
I’m super excited for today because my sisters and I are going to the CUESA’s 25th Birthday Bash. CUESA is the organization behind the farmer’s market at the SF Ferry Building. And tonight, there’s going to be lots of restaurants and breweries catering the event with live music and even a silent auction. So I can’t wait to attend!
In the mean time, let’s talk about these strawberry lemon poppy seed scones.

There’s a brand new cafe in SF called Stonemill Matcha, and I am so obsessed with it.
Why? Because it’s everything matcha. And you know how much I love matcha lately. =)
My friend Emily and I stopped there for some drinks and desserts. We thought we would try it before it becomes super busy and impossible to get a table there.
We tried a few things, but my ultimate favorite is the Stonemill Cake, a black sesame cake with black sesame frosting then lightly dusted with matcha powder. I was in love with that first bite and can’t wait to go back to try more of their food.
Blackberry Glazed Vanilla Cheesecake with Biscoff Crust
Small batch vanilla cheesecake on a biscoff crust topped with a blackberry glaze. Simple to make and delicious, this blackberry glazed vanilla cheesecake with biscoff crust is the ultimate summer dessert.
I’ve been waiting so long to share this cheesecake with you. Or at least, it feels like it.
If I were to pick a favorite dessert, I think it might have to be cheesecake. If I could eat cheesecake without having to worry about the repercussions of eating too much of it, I could probably eat several slices in one sitting.
There’s something about the creaminess of the cheesecake filling, the sweet crumbliness of the graham crust that’s just so addictive to me.
Strawberry Orange Lemonade
Fresh orange juice and lemonade sweetened with strawberry simple syrup. This strawberry orange lemonade is refreshing for a warm summer day.
Happy Sunday!
It’s finally June, which means summer is almost here!
And it starting to feel like it too.

Last weekend, I went to Monterey to visit my friend, Kim. On the way to Monterey, we stopped by Watsonville to pick strawberries from Gizdich Ranch. Have you ever been strawberry picking? It’s so much fun searching for the perfect strawberries. Unfortunately, it’s not quite strawberry season yet so many of the strawberries aren’t yet ripe, but we got a good amount anyway. In another month, there will be so many and it’ll also be ollalieberry and boysenberry season. And if you’re ever at Gizdich Ranch, you have to also stop for their freshly baked pies and their freshly pressed apple juice.
