Nectarine, Walnuts, and Dried Cranberry Salad

A simple yet delicious summer salad consisting of bite sized lettuce, thinly sliced sweet yellow nectarine, crunchy walnuts, and sweet dried cranberries then drizzled with sweet nectarine balsamic vinaigrette. Normally, I’d save these little updates for my Life with a Wallflower posts, but I’m too excited about my latest discovery to wait. My cousin from Los Angeles and his wife came to visit us for the long weekend. We spent Independence Day with family down in San Jose. And we discovered a brand new dessert place, perfect for the hot weather. Have you ever had shaved ice? Yes? What about shaved snow? I have never had shaved snow before, and I was amazed by the soft flaky layers of “snow,” which has creamy texture just like ice cream. If you’re in the South Bay, make Sno-Zen a stop.

Avocado Ice Cream

Ripe avocado blended with condensed milk for a slightly sweetened creamy avocado ice cream. Delicious and simple to make, this two ingredients ice cream will quickly become a summer favorite.

I always associate Independence Day with BBQ and fireworks. It seems like tradition, doesn’t it?

And when I think of BBQ, I always feel like I need a healthy serving of avocado, whether it’s part of a dip or salad, or a dessert.

Peach Strawberry Mint Infused Club Soda

Club soda infused with the refreshing taste of mint and sweet peaches and strawberries. Slightly sweetened with jam, this bubbly drink is perfect for those soda cravings but without the extra sugar.

Have you ever had cravings for something icy cold, sweet, and bubbly? I know I do.

Whenever, I’m at a party, or at a barbeque, I often reach for a soda or maybe juice. I know they’re not good for me, but I just can’t help it!

Roasted Chicken and Strawberry Salad

During the hot days of summer (when I’m not living in SF), I have absolutely no desire to eat anything warm, or heavy for that matter. I just want something cold and light, like a salad. But eating just one type of salad the entire summer would get boring, wouldn’t it? So let’s make salad an amazing dish to serve.

Sweet yellow nectarine blended with balsamic vinegar and olive oil to create a tasty dressing perfect for the summer. Delicious, healthy, and easy to make, this vinaigrette will become your summer go to dressing for your salads.

Life of a Wallflower Part 10 – The San Francisco Dungeon

This is officially my first post after my move to self hosting! I’m so very excited!

Almost everything should be the same as it was before. I didn’t want to make too many changes so soon, not until I know what I’m doing. There are still a few things I need to fix, or at least, learn how to adjust. If you’re having trouble with links or if something doesn’t seem right, let me know, and I’ll do my best to fix it. =)

Blackberry Mint Iced Tea Lemonade

Iced tea lemonade with a hint of mint and crushed blackberries, a refreshing drink for a hot summer day.

During the summer, two of my favorite drinks are iced tea and lemonade. There’s something just so refreshing about those two beverages.

Roasted Strawberry Peach Jam

Slightly sweetened and very delicious jam filled with the flavors of summer. Strawberry and peach jam is perfect as a spread on bread for a tasty breakfast or on crackers for a quick snack.
