It’s that time of year!
I get to show you some of my recipe fails from this past year. Some were recipes that didn’t turn out well. Others were questionable decisions in regards to cooking. Why I thought it was a good idea at the time is beyond me.

I discovered a new dessert place near Union Square called One65 Patisserie and Boutique! They have the prettiest desserts with unique flavors. And I couldn’t resist getting a few of their macarons to try. There were so many flavors to pick from, but I think my favorite has to be the rose lychee.

It’s been so rainy lately. And I’m kind of hoping that we’ve seen the last of it for awhile. My family and I are headed up to Point Reyes this weekend to Heidrun Meadery for a sparkling mead tasting. And it would be nice to enjoy the day along the coast without the rain.

There’s a donut place near the Palace of Fine Arts that I’ve heard of and have been wanting to try for a long while. Unfortunately, I never had the time to wander out there just to buy a donut. But since I was out there already, I had to indulge.
Dynamo Donuts, if you’re ever in the area, have some unique flavors. Flavors that you don’t often find. This particular donut is passion fruit with milk chocolate.

I can’t believe it’s been almost a week since I’ve come back from my vacation in New Orleans. I’ll share more photos at a later time, but one of my favorite parts of the trip was getting to indulge in beignets. There are Southern comfort food and Cajun restaurants in San Francisco that offer beignets. But the thing is, it’s just not the same as the beignets in New Orleans.
So during our stay in New Orleans, is it any surprise that we overindulged in beignets? We had beignets three separate times over the week. lol. My favorite still remains to be the original Cafe du Monde location. Service is definitely not amazing. But the beignets are soo worth the crowds, the sticky ground, and the bad service. So is the coffee. And I don’t even drink coffee. lol.

Have you been to Lombard Street in SF? The curvy road that looks so amazing in pictures?
This is the view from over Lombard Street. You can see Coit Tower in the distance as well as the Bay Bridge. And I believe Alcatraz. I took my cousin here on the way to Fisherman’s Wharf.

Breakfast toast topped with crispy bacon, poached eggs, and roasted corn. This roasted corn, bacon, and egg breakfast toast is exactly what I need to start my weekend mornings.
Happy Sunday!
We’re starting to inch our way to the end of August, and I’m more than a little excited. My sisters and I are going to LA during Labor Day weekend. It’s going to be packed with activities, but I can’t wait to explore LA and do all the touristy things that we tend to avoid in the past because of waits and crowds. If you guys have suggestions and recommendations of things to do and places to eat at in LA and the Hollywood area, we would love to hear from you. <3
In the mean time, let’s talk about Sunday brunch.

Over the weekend, I went to a new tea place with a friend. If you don’t know yet, I’m kind of obsessed with boba milk tea. It’s so bad for you since most of them are sugary. But they’re sooo good. It’s my guilty pleasure.
I found this new tea place, Teaquation, that does tea flights! Basically, you can order a tea flight and choose 4 different tea flavors to try. I don’t drink much alcohol so wine tasting is a waste on me. I still go wine tasting though since I think it’s fun. Lol. I just don’t drink much. But tea tasting flights are exactly the kind of thing I love. And they make it so pretty too.

It’s been such a busy July so far. I feel like I have an event happening every few days and it’s starting to take a little bit of a toll even though I’m super excited for all of it. Earlier this week, I actually got the chance to meet Jules, the founder of Matcha SF and Matcha Fest, to chat and learn how she went about growing her business and her social media following. We had matcha cream pie and matcha lattes while we chatted. lol.
And today, after work, I’m attending NightGarden Piano at the SF Botanical Gardens. Just picture lit pathways, pianos being played in the park, and dinner from local food trucks. I’m sooo excited! Lol. I’m definitely share pictures when I get the chance!

Is it spring yet where you are? I don’t think Mother Nature has quite figured out yet whether she wants it to still be winter or move forward to spring.
In this week’s finds….
