String beans and garlic are a staple in my house. If we want something quick to make as a side for noodles or rice, we prepare string beans, add a little bit of garlic, a dash of salt, maybe a little bit of crushed red pepper flakes. Simple but oh so very delicious. Give it a try and let me know what you think =)

First, wash and cut each string bean in half. This makes the string beans more bite size.

Cut String Beans

Mince about 3-4 cloves of garlic.

Minced Garlic

In a medium sized skillet, add about a tablespoon of olive oil. Allow the oil to heat for about a minute. Then add the minced garlic. Stir the garlic with a spatula and cook the garlic over medium to low heat until it becomes aromatic and starts to turn golden brown.

Add in the string beans. Then add in the crushed red pepper and salt to taste. Stir the string beans to incorporate the seasoning, and cook for about 8-10 minutes or until the string beans have softened to your liking.
