10 Brunch Recipes Perfect for Mother’s Day

It’s Mother’s Day this Sunday!

Do you have anything planned yet?

10 Brunch Recipes Perfect for Mother's Day | Cooking with a Wallflower

For our family, we haven’t quite decided what we want to do yet. Most of the time, we just go out for an early dinner, that way we don’t have to deal with the wait or the crowds. Other times, we’ll buy crab or lobster and make it an event at home. But this year, we’re still not sure what we’re doing yet.

I’m thinking maybe we ought to change things up a bit and make it a Mother’s day brunch.

Since brunch is my favorite meal, I have a lot of recipes that would work to celebrate the occasion.

See anything you might like?

Some days, I just feel like eating appetizers.

Cheesecake Factory Appetizers - Cooking with a Wallflower

My friend Jen and I like to meet up every once in awhile at the Cheesecake Factory. Most of the time, it’s because we like getting cheesecake there. They have so many to choose from. But their entrees are soo big that whenever we order entrees we never ever get to the cheesecake because we’re too full.

So instead, we started to go through the appetizers. We would order a few appetizers to share and occasionally drinks.

This last trip was a late birthday celebration for me and a congratulations celebration for Jen getting into a residency program. We ordered crab and artichoke dip with bread, eggroll sampler, and beer battered fries. And we each got a mojito. Basically, a girl’s day out with drinks and appetizers. Perfect. Plus, a ton of inspirations too =)

I am so missing the holidays right now. I mean, from October on, there are so many holidays and festivities to look forward to. Then after New Year’s Day, I feel like we’re in a drought of holidays. I mean, there’s summer to look forward to, but it’s not the same as the winter holidays.

But we’re so close to Valentine’s Day. Are you guys making plans yet?

There’s a place in Southern California that sells durian macarons. Yes, you read that right. When my family and I went to So Cal last year, we looked for all sorts of treats to try. We found Brodard Bistro which sells all flavors of macarons, including durian and lychee. Since my cousin went down south this past weekend, I wanted her to bring me back some macarons to indulge. Because I’m still not brave enough to attempt making my own =)Macarons

My sister has been into cheese so we’ve been going to Cow Girl Creamery to sample different cheeses. They have a weekly grab bag filled with three different cheeses and a cheese spreader. It’s a great way to try something new.

Back in college, I was addicted to these coffee granola bars from Caribou Coffee, but after a couple years, they discontinued it. I was so disappointed. It was my breakfast on the go.

But! I stumbled across these Caramel Macchiato Granola Bars from Kind Bars and fell in love. They’re so good. Seriously. Lol.

The colors of summer. How can you not love it?

Can you guess where they came from?

Farmer's Market Flowers

I really need to stop bookmarking. There’s so many things I’ve bookmarked, I can cook and bake for years and still won’t be able to try everything. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Two days in Napa Valley and I’m in love.

The gorgeousness of the vineyards. The amazing foods. The abundance in cheese and crackers. The peacefulness of the countryside (sort of).

This post is actually prescheduled while I’m vacationing in Napa. Super excited to see wine country for the first time. A little sad considering that I live like an hour away. I’ll be sure to share pictures when I get back. In the mean time, you can see updates by following me on Instagram. =)

How can summer be complete without s’mores?

Chocolate Covered Strawberries S'mores | Cooking with a Wallflower

Actually, is s’mores an American thing? I’ve always thought that peanut butter and jelly was a common thing, but after I posted my Peanut Butter and Jelly French Toast recipe, I realized that it’s not. Is it the same with s’mores?

Anyway, I can’t even begin to tell you how in love I am with this version of s’mores.
