These past few days in San Francisco has been a combination of warm and cold weather. Which is honestly, typical of San Francisco. I was up at the Legion of Honors, and I couldn’t resist taking a photo of the Golden Gate Bridge while standing in the middle of wildflowers.

We don’t really have seasons in San Francisco so oftentimes we see more overcast skies and fog. But I don’t think I would want it any other way.

Last Sunday, my sisters and I attended the CUESA Summer Bash at the Ferry Building. This is our second time going and it was so much fun. Over 40 restaurants and over 20 bars and wineries were there to serve some of their signature dishes.

Last weekend, my sister and I attended the Oral Cancer Awareness Fundraiser Walk at Crissy Fields. It was hard to wake up early on a Sunday and leave the house for the cold windy beach. But it was so worth it in the end. Not only is this event for a good cause, I got some exercise in and enjoyed the amazing views of the water and the Golden Gate Bridge.

We walked from the Crissy Fields area all the way to Fort Point, which is right underneath the Golden Gate Bridge, and back. A little over 3 miles. It was kind of a perfect way to spend Sunday morning.

Last weekend, my friend since high school got married, and I was her maid of honor. Her wedding took place at the San Francisco Zoo. While it was stressful trying to stay on schedule, it was such a fun experience, especially for the guests since they got to interact with the animals. And I still can’t over the fact that I got to feed giraffes! Okay, maybe it was just one giraffe, but still!

Have I ever mentioned that Thai food is a staple in our house? My sisters and I grew up eating a combination of Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai food. Asian foods are always so flavorful. So many different spices and bold flavors.

Have you been to Lombard Street in SF? The curvy road that looks so amazing in pictures?

The View of SF from Lombard Street

This is the view from over Lombard Street. You can see Coit Tower in the distance as well as the Bay Bridge. And I believe Alcatraz. I took my cousin here on the way to Fisherman’s Wharf.

Happy Friday!

My younger cousin is visiting us this week so we’ve been taking her out to see the sights. Unfortunately, on the day we went to Pier 39, there was heavy rain. I have never seen the Fisherman’s Wharf area so empty. But it gave us a chance to take photos that we probably wouldn’t be able to take otherwise.

How pretty is this carousel reflected in the rain?

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day filled with love and chocolates. Lots of chocolate in my case. lol.

Salted Caramel Brownies

This weekend is my cousin’s 30th birthday so we’re doing a lot of celebrating. First, we’re celebrating with a dinner at House of Prime Ribs. Then a day in Napa Valley to do some wine tasting. And of course, eating. It’s been kind of stormy the last few days, so hopefully by Saturday, the weather will have cleared up so we could enjoy the day at the vineyards.

There’s a popular bakery in SF called B. Patisserie. I’ve been wanting to try this place for the longest time but just never went. Mostly because it’s out of the way. But this past Wednesday, I was actually in the area for my friend’s bridal hair trial. So I decided to go a little early to check out their selection of baked goods. Sooo many pastries to choose from. But since I wasn’t going home for awhile, I had to limit my selection.

The chocolate banana almond croissant, which so many people raved about, was soooo good. I wasn’t sure about the combination of flavors, but one bite, and I’m so glad that I ordered it.

I also ordered the black sesame kouign amann. If you’re a fan of black sesame, this is definitely the pastry for you to get.

Stop by B. Patisserie if you’re in SF. I seriously wanted to buy one of each item.
