If you’ve been to San Francisco, you know that our city is full of hills. Some of them are so ridiculously steep. But it’s on those steep hills that you get the most amazing views of the city. This is San Francisco at sunrise on a clear morning.

About a month ago, I stumbled across Baker Doe’s Instagram page and discovered some of the prettiest bicolor croissants I’ve ever seen. Okay, so maybe it was the first time I’ve ever seen bicolor croissants. But I really really wanted to try them. Unfortunately, to order these croissants for Sunday delivery, you have to be quick because it’s on a first come first serve basis.

I finally got my hands on a dozen of these croissants last weekend. And they did not disappoint. I ordered duck yolk lava custard croissants topped with cookie crumbles, pink guava bicolor croissants, pandan coconut double baked croissants, and a dulce de leche danish with caramel and chocolate shards. I can’t decide which I like better: the duck yolk lava custard croissants, which are like the yolk buns you get at dim sum, or the coconut pandan double baked croissants.

It’s starting to feel like fall in the city. The weather has started to cool down. And we just had our first rain of the season. Is it cool where you are or is it still summery?

The last several days have been tough for those living in Northern California. You may have heard that our state has been fighting wildfires since Sunday night. It has been so devastating for everyone here. While San Francisco is not in the wildfire area, we are getting the smoke and ashes from the north. The air quality is so bad at times that you see many people walking around the streets with masks on. And for those of us who are not personally affected by the wildfires, we all know someone who is.

Right now, we’re trying to figure out ways to help our neighbors to the north. And it has been difficult and heartbreaking to think that this is our new normal. Even now, after so many days, the fires are still burning strong.

“The heat of autumn is different from the heat of summer. One ripens apples, the other turns them to cider.” – Jane Hirshfield

It’s already mid-October and I thought that this would be the perfect time to share with you some of my all time favorite fall recipes. Some of them are newer and some of them are older. All of which are soo good. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be sharing them with you, again and again, right? =)

Happy Saturday!

It’s been so warm lately that I’ve been obsessed with Vietnamese desserts because they’re cold and refreshing? Have you ever had one before? If you haven’t, you really should try them.

I’m super excited about this weekend. Tonight, my sisters and a few friends are going to Tastemaker, San Francisco’s first nightclub for food lovers. Whatever that means. But good food, cocktails, mixology classes, music. Doesn’t that sound so much fun? I’ll share photos of the event afterwards. =)

Let’s talk serious for a few minutes.

I have a dilemma. I’m pretty sure someone took one of my photos, cropped it, and used it as their own.

Less than a week left until fall!

Are you excited as I am? There’s something about fall that I just absolutely love. Maybe it’s all the cozy meals or maybe it’s all the festivities that come with fall. Whatever it is, I’m excited. And so ready for fall foods.

In the meantime, I’ve been stocking up on all of these tomatoes at the farmer’s market. My favorite are the gorgeous heirloom tomatoes and the super sweet dry farmed early girl tomatoes.

I’ve been away for a couple days doing all things Thanksgiving, and today, I’m almost officially back.

I’m still completely, utterly exhausted from all the foods we’ve eaten. Especially all the desserts I couldn’t resist.

If you’ve been on Instagram stories, you’ve probably seen all the things my family has eaten.

Salads, mashed potato, mac and cheese, asparagus and crab soup, chow mein, apple pear pie (super <3 the braided version!), pumpkin pie, brownies, cornbread, turkey, shrimp chips, garlic bread.

What did you have for Thanksgiving?

So this week I’m just going to share some recipes that you can use for leftovers because I know we all have a ton of those.

Last weekend, my schedule was so packed with activities, but it was so much fun!

My friend got married at the J.W. Marriott just off of Union Square in SF on Saturday evening, and her wedding was so soo gorgeous. Just look at this wedding cake! Isn’t it so romantic?

And the best part? She had a petit four station and an ice cream sundae bar station, where you make your own sundaes! You get to pick from three different ice cream flavors: chocolate chip, lemon, and double chocolate. Then you get to top it with a huge selection of goodies.

Seriously, the lines for dessert were soo long but definitely worth it.
