Happy Sunday!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I can’t believe that it’s already May! We’re just weeks away from summer and I can’t wait for the summer produce. Sweet ripe berries, peaches and nectarines and all the stone fruits. How can you resist?

But first, let’s talk about this matcha latte float.

Did you know that today is the first ever National Matcha Day? So of course we’re celebrating with a matcha dessert.

I’ve been obsessed with matcha for years. I love the earthy flavor of matcha. It’s so unique in flavor with a boost of caffeinne. And it’s perfect when whisked with your favorite milk, whether it’s dairy or nondairy. But I personally love nondairy milks for my lattes since it’s thicker and creamier. Then you can sweeten it with your favorite sweetener.

For this dessert, the base is a matcha latte. Then the latte is topped with your favorite ice cream. It’s simple, delicious, and perfect for when you’re craving an easy to make dessert.

To make this recipe…

In a small glass, add matcha powder and add a little bit of milk. Whisk until the matcha powder has dissolved into a paste. Add the rest of the milk and whisk until well combined. If you like, you can add a sweetener to the matcha latte and crushed ice.

Top the matcha latte with a scoop of your favorite ice cream. I added young coconut ice cream, but vanilla ice cream works really well.

Serve the matcha latte float immediately cold.

Enjoy!
