You know how they say that ice cream is best eaten when it’s cold out so that it doesn’t melt as fast?

I feel the same way about frozen smoothies. If it’s cold out, I would have more time to enjoy my smoothie bowl. Otherwise, it would melt. And I’ll have to sip my smoothie bowl instead of eating it by the spoonful.

Years ago, I was obsessed with the smoothie bowls from Jamba Juice. It was the perfect breakfast, even though it felt like it cost a fortune, especially as a student. So fast forward years later, I took that idea and gave it my own take, my own smoothie bowl. Best part is that I get to add all my favorite toppings. Crunchy granola? Check. Peanut butter? Check. Frozen berries? Check.

I’ve been receiving a Degusta Box subscription snack box each month for a little while now. And I always look forward to its arrival. Every box is filled to the brim with snacks. Some of which are old favorites, some of which I’ve been wanting to try but never get around to, some of which I have never heard of and want to try.

February DeGusta Box

The February box was filled with all sorts of goodies. One of my favorites was the PBfit, which I have seen in stores but never got around to trying. PBfit is peanut butter powder. Peanuts are roasted, then pressed so that the oil and fat comes out, then grounded to powder, and lastly mixed with coconut sugar and a pinch of salt. It tastes exactly like peanut butter but with just a third of the calories and 90% less fat than traditional peanut butter. All you have to do is mix 2 tablespoons of PBfit with 1 1/2 tablespoons water. You can add more water if you like for a thinner consistency.

It’s perfect for drizzling on my smoothie bowl.
