Crusty bread topped with melted mozzarella, chopped strawberries, and fresh basil with a drizzle of honey. This honey strawberry basil toast is delicious, refreshing, and tastes like summer.
Happy Sunday!
I have so many things planned for this weekend, so I’m going to keep this post short.
From working to going to the farmer’s market to celebrating my grandma’s birthday, it’s definitely a busy weekend. Plus, with family from out of state visiting, I get to play the part of the tour guide, which is always fun.
But before I get all wrapped up in life, I have to share with you this honey strawberry basil toast.
It’s like taking a bite out of summer.
This honey strawberry basil toast is the most incredible appetizer or snack. And if you’re like me, you might just turn this toast into a meal. It’s loaded with fresh ingredients that you can easily find. The sweetness of fresh strawberries, the refreshing taste of basil, the crunch of walnuts, all on a crusty bread with melted mozzarella. To top it off, a drizzle of honey.
Yes, please!
This honey strawberry basil toast is a non recipe. As in, you don’t really have to measure out the ingredients exactly. If you like more strawberries, add more strawberries. If you like more basil, add more basil. If you don’t like walnuts, substitute with your favorite nuts. Seriously, this is the ultimate create-your-own summer toast.
And even better, you probably already have these ingredients lying around waiting to be used.
So what are you waiting for?
Make yourself some of these summery toasts and totally impress your guests with them.
Take slices of baguette or any other crusty bread and sprinkle mozzarella on top.
Toast the bread until the mozzarella has melted.
Top the toast with chopped strawberries, roughly torn basil leaves, and chopped walnuts.
Drizzle honey on top.
Serve these honey strawberry basil toast fresh.
Enjoy!

Ooh, I would never have thought to put strawberry and mozzarella together, but this looks and sounds delicious. So summery, I may have to give this a go 🙂

This sounds great! It gives me another way to use the fresh basil in my garden! (I use it most often to make pesto or treat mosquito bites.) I’ll think I’ll try this with almonds. My family probably won’t eat it, though. Hey, that’s just more for me! ha ha
Thanks for liking my summer photo gallery. It reminded me that I haven’t checked out your blog in a while. I’ll have to peruse your site a bit and catch up.

Oh, and the photos for your recipe are very well done.

Basil can treat mosquito bites? That’s good to know!
Merry Hearts Medicine says
Yes, and it’s amazing how it works! My daughter and I seem to attract mosquitoes. We can be standing in a crowd of people and be the only ones bitten sometimes! I wrote a post about how to use it effectively, if you’d like to see it. Sweet Basil

Looks delicious. Have you tried a little ground pepper on strawberries. It is meant to be good.

I haven’t tried it, but I will soon!
