Strong coffee poured over creamy matcha latte with oatmeal. This dirty matcha oatmeal latte is simple to make, delicious, and the perfect pick me up during cold winter days.
I’m starting to count down the days until Christmas.
Over the next few weeks, my weekends are filled with events. Wine country, office holiday dinner, Cirque du Soleil’s Volta, and Candytopia. Not to mention all those dinners with family and friends leading up to the holidays. It’s going to be so much fun. And so exhausting. What plans do you have for the holidays? Will you be staying local or traveling?
Since I’m working extra days leading up to the holidays, I know I’m going to need a little extra pick me up. So does my youngest sister, Victoria. She’s currently studying for the last of her finals so she needs something to keep her up during those long study sessions. Remember those days? I definitely don’t miss it.
This dirty matcha oatmeal latte is everything. If you’re a fan of coffee, a fan of matcha, and a fan of breakfast, this drink combines all three! Creamy oatmeal with a hint of coffee and matcha in every bite. So it’s the perfect way to wake up in the morning. Plus, it’s warm and comforting and honestly, exactly what I need to get me through the winter.
I’ll be honest though. I can only drink this in small quantities. I’m a little sensitive to coffee caffeine. So too much will give me a headache. But I brave it because I love the taste of coffee. lol. Who else has that problem?
In a small pot, add matcha powder and a little bit of almond milk over low heat. Whisk until the matcha powder has completely dissolved. Pour the rest of the almond milk into the pot. Add the oats and maple syrup and let it cook for a few minutes before removing from heat.
Pour the matcha oatmeal latte in a mug. Top the mug with strong coffee.
Serve the dirty matcha oatmeal latte warm.

I’m curious about this and might have to try it . . . how would it be if you left the oatmeal out and enjoyed it as a drink only??
