Earl grey tea topped with lemonade, sparkling lemon water, and crushed ice. This earl grey iced tea lemonade is perfect for a warm spring or summer day.
Do you love tea as much as I do?
I think my love of tea developed from growing up visiting my grandma every weekend. My grandma loved her tea, and she had a range of different teas. Some are teabags meant for everyday drinking, others are premium teas shipped from China meant for special occasions.
I now have a collection too, but mine are the everyday types. Depending on what I feel like having, I just have to reach in there and pick one out for myself. But what I love most about teas is that you can have them hot or cold. Hot during the cold winter months, and cold during the warmer spring and summer months. And they go well with pretty much anything you’re eating.
I love that it’s finally starting to warm up in the San Francisco area. It’s finally starting to feel like spring. Warm sunny days, cool breezes. So I thought this would be the perfect time to start with a iced tea drink. If it’s still not warm enough for this iced tea lemonade, you can always save it for when it does get warmer.
Steep two earl grey tea bags in about 2 cups of hot water for several minutes. Then remove the tea bags, stir in the granulated sugar until dissolved, and let the tea cool.
In a pitcher, add freshly squeezed lemon juice. Pour in sweetened earl grey tea. Stir to incorporate all the ingredients.
When ready to serve, divide the earl grey lemonade into two glasses. Top with sparkling water or sparkling lemon water and crushed ice.
Serve the earl grey iced tea lemonade cold.
Enjoy!
