A touch of Rosé wine with blood orange juice in freshly squeezed lemonade. Rosé blood orange lemonade is a simple and elegant drink to serve your guests.
Last summer, my sisters, cousins, and I went to Napa Valley to do some sightseeing, wine tasting, and lots of farm to table eating. You can read more about our trip here.
Have you ever been? If you haven’t, you should place Napa Valley on your “places to visit” list. It’s so pretty and relaxing there. It’s the perfect getaway.
I’m not much of a wine drinker, or any alcohol, really. I don’t usually finish a glass of wine or the cocktails that I order. But I do love tasting them. I’ll order a mimosa during brunch and take a few sips. Or enjoy taking tiny sips of wine during a girls’ day out. I love trying to taste the hidden floral notes, or the hint of seasonal fruits. And then most of the time, totally failing at it. lol.
If you’re a fan of cocktails with just a hint of alcohol, you’ll love this lemonade.
In general, I tend to go for sweeter wines. You know, dessert wines. Like moscato and rosé. So I wanted to use them in my drinks. But I know very little about them.
A few years ago, when I did some wine tasting at a Yelp event, I didn’t notice the accent on rosé and asked the vendor if I could try rose wine. How embarrassing. lol.
When I first tried La Fantasia from Castello di Amorosa this past summer, I fell in love with it and ended up buying an entire case. For someone who doesn’t drink much wine, that’s a lot of bottles. Most of them were for my parents. This isn’t a sponsored post, I just really like the wine.
Use your favorite brand of rosé wine. There are so many out there!
So, for this recipe, I thought we can create our own winter citrus cocktail. For special occasions, of course. Like birthdays, anniversaries, bridal showers…
I feel like this year, my calendar is filled with all these events.
This rosé blood orange lemonade is soo amazing. You taste just a hint of rosé wine with the sweet citrusy flavor of blood orange and lemonade.
And it’ll take just a few minutes to make.
All you have to do is mix together: Rosé wine, blood orange juice, lemon juice, water, and granulated sugar. Gently stir the drink to incorporate all the ingredients. Top your lemonade cocktail with crushed ice.
Serve rosé blood orange lemonade cold.
Enjoy!
- 3 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- ⅛ cup rosé wine
- ¼ cup blood orange juice
- 3-4 ice cubes, crushed
- Blood orange slices for decoration
- Stir together the lemon juice, granulated sugar, water, rosé wine, and blood orange juice.
- Pour the lemonade into a glass.
- Top with crushed ice cubes.
