I feel like I’ve spent the past week window shopping online for furniture and curtains and rugs to make our little apartment feel a little bit more homey. It’s fun but at the same time a little overwhelming. Because it feels like there’s so much left to do. But we’re enjoying every last minute of it.
With spring here, and summer just around the corner, the weather is definitely becoming much warmer. So I have the perfect little recipe to share with you today.

If you haven’t noticed yet, I’m a big fan of matcha. I love the strong flavor of matcha tea and the bright earthy notes that accompany matcha. So you’ll find me making desserts with matcha or creating some of my favorite drinks with it.
I love how simple it is to make matcha. A spoonful of matcha powder, milk, and sweetener and you have a drink in just minutes.
For this version, I wanted to take the classic iced matcha latte to the next level by adding brown sugar syrup to the drink.

In a small pot, add brown sugar and water over low heat. Cook and stir for a few minutes until the brown sugar has dissolved and the syrup has thickened. Set aside for now.
In a glass, whisk together matcha powder and milk until well combined and all the matcha powder has dissolved.
In a serving glass or mason jar, drizzle brown sugar syrup over the sides of the glass. Add crushed ice to the glass, then pour in the matcha latte.
Serve the brown sugar matcha latte cold.

- 1 ½ -2 teaspoons matcha powder
- 1 cup oat milk
