Classic chocolate chip cookies with hints of earl grey tea in every bite. These earl grey chocolate chip cookies are delicious and perfect for cookie cravings.
Happy Sunday!
I hope you’re having a wonderful Labor Day weekend. It’s supposed to be another warm weekend in the Bay Area, but unfortunately, we can’t enjoy the outdoors as much with the air still unhealthy due to the wildfires we’ve been experiencing.
My boyfriend and I were supposed to be in Hawaii this weekend for a wedding, but for obvious reasons, the wedding is postponed until next year. Plus, Hawaii has extended their travel restrictions. So I’m just enjoying the extra few days off.
In the mean time I want to share with you these earl grey chocolate chip cookies.
I’m a big fan of the classic chocolate chip cookies. I love the soft centers and the chewy edges. I love the caramel taste of brown sugar in my cookies. There’s something about brown sugar that makes cookies super addictive. Plus, little chocolate chips in every bite. How can you resist?
But I wanted to add a little twist to the classic favorite. I wanted to add earl grey tea to the cookie dough. So that every bite into the cookies will give a little hint of earl grey. So if you’re a fan of earl grey tea, these chocolate chip cookies is a must try for you.
It’s sooo good.
In a small mixing bowl, whisk together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until combined. Add egg and vanilla extract, then whisk until combined.
In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together all purpose flour, earl grey tea, and baking soda.
Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Mix until combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips. Refrigerate the cookie dough for about an hour.
When ready to bake the cookies, preheat the oven to 350F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside for now.
Use a cookie scooper or a tablespoon to measure out the cookie dough and roll them into balls. Place them evenly apart, about 12 cookie dough balls on a baking sheet.
Bake the cookies for about 10 minutes until the edges are slightly browned. Remove the cookies from the oven.
Let the cookies cool for several minutes before transferring over to a cooling rack. Repeat with the rest of the cookie dough.
Serve these earl grey chocolate chip cookies warm with a sprinkle of vanilla salt if desired.

Hi, I have tried this recipe this morning, and my sister and mom basically said that it is too sweet for their liking. So, maybe next time, I might omit the granulated sugar and cut the brown sugar by half.
