Earl grey tea steepened in creamy soy milk then slightly sweetened. This earl grey latte is simple, comforting, and perfect when paired with baked goods.
Happy Wednesday!
It’s been another few days, and I feel like it’s getting even more difficult to keep track of the day of the week. Lol. Because every day feels the same right now. I’ve resorted to checking my planner often and making lists of things to do so that I would be at least a little productive while at home. How are you coping with sheltering in place?
Early last week, Sugar Bowl Bakery sent me a box filled with some of their famous baked goods: madeleines and brownie bites. It was perfect timing because I need snacks if I’m spending most of my day at home. You may have seen the individually packaged madeleines and brownies at Costco and other supermarkets. They’re some of my favorite snacks. Both the madeleines and brownie bites are so soft and flavorful, and because they’re individually wrapped, I can easily grab them on my way out.
And even better, when they’re paired with earl grey latte.
I am obsessed with this earl grey latte because it is so simple to make and so strong in flavor. If you like your latte a little on the sweet side, you can definitely add your favorite sweetener, but I used vanilla soy milk and that was perfect for me. The creaminess of the latte with strong notes of earl grey made it perfect with both the madeleines and the brownie bites.
In a small pot, heat soy milk over low heat until it comes to a low simmer. Remove the pot from heat and steep the earl grey tea bags for several minutes. The longer the tea bags steep, the stronger the flavor.
Once ready to serve, press the tea bags to get the most out of the teas. Discard the tea bags. Sweeten the earl grey latte if desired. Whisk the milk until tiny bubbles begin to form on top.
Pour the earl grey latte into a large mug.
Serve the earl grey latte warm with madeleines and brownie bites.
Enjoy! Stay safe and healthy! <3

I agree your photography is beautiful, but I never think of tea with milk(any type) as a latte. I thought that term only referred to coffee. I do like milk in my tea with the exception of Earl Grey like that straight up!

Most of the time, it refers to coffee. But there are also tea lattes. Matcha lattes and chai tea lattes are common ones. They’re basically flavored milk with froth on top. I generally like my teas without milk. But with these tea lattes, I think of them ,more as flavored milk than actual tea lol

Hi Andrea! I believe you could make mud pies look delicious. Your photography is exceptional and who would have thought we could shelter in place and enjoy such an easy and satisfying fix for our Spring/cabin fever. I’m a real fan of matcha and Kung Fu tea. I think this Earl Grey Latte will fit nicely into my top list of tea things to do.

I don’t think I’ve had kung fu tea before
Hyperion says
I think we call it Kung Fu but I’ve seen it as Gong Fu too. It is Oolong tea prepared the traditional Chinese way with whole tea leaves with the first steeping called a rinse and the tea is poured out, then the second steep is poured into small cups. Quite delicious and good for your healthy lifestyle.
