Slices of pears baked in a pie crust with cinnamon sugar and a drizzle of honey. This honey pear galette is simple to make and perfect for serving guests during the holidays.
Happy Sunday!
There’s only 10 days left till Christmas! I am soo excited. I’m also not ready for the year to be over. You’d think that after all these years, I would have learned how to manage my time, but nope. I’m still stressing over presents and what secret gift to bring to our office holiday party on Friday. If you have ideas, definitely let me know.
In the mean time, we have to talk about this honey pear galette.
Have you ever had pears baked with honey and a little bit of cinnamon sugar? No? It’s one of my favorite fall flavors. There’s something about sweet pears baked with honey that’s unlike anything else. The honey caramelizes as you bake it over the pear, and the flavors are just soo amazing.
Ever since I made honey pear pie about two years ago, I’ve been obsessed with pairing pears with honey. There’s something about it that’s just sooo good. And seriously addictive.
So this year, I wanted to try making it in a smaller, simpler form: a galette. Pie crust with a delicious filling in the center. Gather the edges together and you have a rustic tart. Or a free formed pie. So simple, so delicious, and so perfect for a small dessert.
Preheat the oven to 400F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside for now.
In a small sized bowl, combine brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and ground ginger.
Roll out a 9 inch pie crust on the prepared baking sheet.
Cut the pears lengthwise and remove the core. Arrange the slices of pear on the pie crust, leaving about a 1 inch border around the edge.
Sprinkle the sugar mixture over and between the pear slices.
Drizzle honey on top to cover all the pear slices.
Fold the edge of the pie crust over the pears.
In a small bowl, whisk together egg and a tablespoon of milk to make the egg wash. Brush the egg wash over the pie crust. Sprinkle coarse sugar over the edges.
Bake the honey pear galette for about 25-30 minutes until the crust has turned a golden brown and the center is bubbly.
Allow the honey pear galette to cool down before slicing into it.

I baked your pear pie and loved the flavor. ….the honey one you posted a little while ago. I did have an issue though with too much liquid. I had to pour some of the heated honey out of the pie as it was flowing over as the pie baked. I don’t know why. This recipe looks easy and yummy!
