Lemonade with fresh mint and matcha powder topped with club soda and crushed ice. This sparkling matcha mint lemonade is super refreshing and easy to make.
Happy Sunday!
I hope you’re enjoying your weekend with lots of warmth and sunshine.
It’s been such a relaxing last few days since one of the offices I work at is closed for vacation. So I’ve been in the kitchen testing out brand new recipes as well as thinking of revamping old ones from the archives. And I can’t wait to share them with you soon. <3 In the meantime, you can find some sneak peeks on Instagram.
Today, I wanted to share with you a new lemonade that’s perfect for summer. When I think of hot summer days, I think of a cold glass of refreshing lemonade to help cool us down.
There’s a twist to this lemonade though. It has fresh mint leaves and matcha green tea. If you’re a fan of matcha, then this lemonade would be exactly what you need in your life.
There’s a new matcha cafe in San Francisco that serves all things matcha and one of my favorite drinks there is a sparkling mint matcha. It was super refreshing and unique in flavor so I really wanted to try to replicate it at home and share it with you.
The ingredients to this lemonade is simple, especially if you’re as matcha obsessed as I have been lately. I just like having matcha on hand for drinks and baked goods. Plus, it has a good amount of caffeine to give you an extra boost of energy but it doesn’t affect me negatively as the caffeine in coffee does. Which is why I love it so much.
Add matcha powder and sweetener of your choice to a large glass with a little bit of water. Whisk until all the matcha powder has dissolved. Add fresh mint leaves and use a muddler to crush the leaves. Add lemon juice and mix until combined.
Divide the matcha green tea mixture into two smaller glasses or mason jars. Top with sparkling water or club soda. Serve the sparkling matcha mint lemonade with crushed ice and fresh mint leaves.
