Another Sunday morning, and all I want to do is sit back and enjoy the last of the weekend.

I have always had a soft spot for chocolate hazelnut spread aka Nutella. There’s something about it that’s so addictive. And it’s always so tempting to eat it by the spoonful. But I know that if I do, it’s going to be difficult to stop. So adding it to milk? Adding it to coffee? It’s one of my favorite combinations.

I’m not much of a coffee drinker. Mostly because the caffeine gives me a headache. So for my lattes? It’s more milk than coffee. I love the taste of coffee so I always want a little bit of it. So obviously, you can add more coffee if that’s what you like. And of course, add more Nutella if you want a stronger Nutella flavor. And if you’re not into coffee, you can just completely omit it. This latte will be just as good, I promise.

To make this chocolate hazelnut latte, all you need is a few ingredients. Strong brewed coffee, Nutella, and vanilla soy milk. A drizzle of maple syrup for sweetness if you like.

In a small pot, heat milk over low to medium heat. Whisk in Nutella until the chocolate hazelnut spread has completely melted. Pour in the coffee and stir until incorporated.

Add maple syrup if you want to sweeten your latte. Or add more Nutella for extra flavor and sweetness.

Pour the chocolate hazelnut latte into a large mug and serve with your favorite baked goods.

Enjoy!

I’m not much of a coffee drinker myself. I drink it because of the caffeine, especially now that I have a baby. Rarely more than one latte though. Back at my old job, we had a cafe and the woman who runs it always said “and one hot milk with coffee flavour for Deb”. I don’t actually like the flavour of coffee. It’s 75% milk, 15% coffee and the rest is sugar or at the moment xylitol.
