We have been experiencing a heatwave the last few days in San Francisco. And as much as I love the sunshine and warm weather and the arrival of summer, none of us in the city are equipped to deal with the heat. So working while in scrubs and a lab coat is so uncomfortable, especially with no air conditioning and no windows that open.

So is it any surprise that I’m sharing a cocktail with you? lol.

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with grapefruit based cocktails. So here’s another to share with you.

I’m honestly not much of an alcohol drinker. I know I share cocktail recipes and I go wine tasting every few months with friends. But it’s always small batches, and it is always shared. Mostly because a couple sips of alcohol, and I look as if I put a ton of blush on my cheeks. I can’t hide that I had a few sips. No matter how hard I try. So when I take pictures, I try to take them before I do my tastings. lol.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Back to grapefruit cocktails. I think what I love most about grapefruit is that it gives you both a slightly sweet and slightly bitter note. When it comes to the paloma, I’m kind of obsessed with the salted rim. It might be my favorite part.

Run a wedge of lime over the rim of the glass, then dip the glass onto a plate of salt to make the salted rim.

Stir together grapefruit juice, granulated sugar, lime juice, and tequila. I use less tequila. Cuz… see above. Lol. Divide into two small glasses. Top with grapefruit flavored club soda or regular club soda. Add crushed ice.

Serve the grapefruit paloma with wedges of lime.

Enjoy!
