Earl grey tea steeped in almond milk with melted white chocolate. This earl grey white hot chocolate is the perfect way to keep warm.
Happy Wednesday!
Is it still cold where you are? We’ve had what feels like endless rain lately in the Bay Area. I’m so ready for spring and all that it brings, but in the mean time, I plan to stay warm with this earl grey white hot chocolate.
I’m a huge fan of earl grey tea. I love the strong flavor profile and how you can’t mistaken the taste for anything else. So I thought it would be perfect to add hot chocolate. Darker chocolates tend to be stronger in taste. But I wanted the earl grey to shine through. So I used white chocolate.
Earl grey in creamy white hot chocolate. This earl grey white hot chocolate is decadent and tastes like dessert in the form of a drink. It’s warm and comforting. And perfect for keeping the cold away for the rest of winter.
If you’re not a fan of white chocolate, you can substitute with milk chocolate or semi sweet chocolate. You may have to add another earl grey tea bag to get that strong earl grey flavor.
P.S. I obviously cannot toast marshmallows. I thought I could toast them on the stove. Nope. My marshmallow was set on fire. So then this is a result of toasting the marshmallow over a lighter. lol. Any tips on toasting marshmallows in a kitchen?
Place heavy cream and milk in a small pot over low to medium heat until warmed. Remove the pot from heat and then steep the earl grey tea bags for a few minutes. Press the tea bags to squeeze out the milk and cream then discard.
Heat the earl grey infused milk and cream until it comes to a simmer. Add chopped white chocolate or white chocolate chips. Stir until all the chocolate has completely melted, and remove the pot from heat. Stir in vanilla extract.
Serve immediately with whipped cream and toasted marshmallows on top as desired.
Enjoy!

There are two ways to toast marshmallows in your kitchen that I know of. One is with a kitchen torch. The second is in the oven under the broiler. You have to turn them to toast all of the sides and keep your eyes on them because they go from nicely toasted to charcoal really fast! lol Good luck! xo
