Puff pastry twisted with strips of bacon and topped with shredded parmesan cheese. These parmesan bacon twists are soo delicious and simple to make and just perfect for serving as appetizers for your summer parties.
It’s that time of year!
For some reason, as soon as it hits June, my schedule suddenly feels like it’s heavy with all sorts of events. Sometimes it’s birthdays, sometimes it’s weddings, sometimes it’s a family barbecue. There’s just so much going on! Do you feel the same way?
To make it easier on all of us, I thought I’d prepare an easy go to recipe for you. Just in case you need an idea for your next summer gathering.
These parmesan bacon twists are super easy to make with just a few ingredients. I love that these parmesan bacon twists are so flavorful and delicious. It’s definitely going to be one of my go to appetizers for parties.
Preheat the oven to 375F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place a wire rack on top. Spray the wire crack with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside for now.
In a small bowl, whisk together a large egg and a tablespoon of milk. This will be the eggwash to brown the puff pastry.
Place a sheet of puff pastry on the counter. Brush the eggwash over the puff pastry facing upwards to cover the entire surface. Sprinkle shredded parmesan cheese over the entire surface. Use a rolling pin to press the cheese into the puff pastry.
Cut the puff pastry into 6 or 8 pieces. If you like your twists thicker, cut them into 6 pieces. If you like them thinner, cut them into 8 pieces or more.
Twist each of the puff pastry pieces with a slice of a bacon. Brush eggwash on all sides of the puff pastries and sprinkle more parmesan cheese on top. Then cut the twists in half.
Place the parmesan bacon twists on the wire rack in a single layer, and bake for about 35-45 minutes until the puff pastries have browned and the bacon become crispy.
Serve the parmesan bacon twists warm.
Enjoy!

I think I might need to avoid making those. They’ll not last five minutes in this house! They look delicious and I do like things like this that are really simple to make but that look impressive.
