SweeTango apples in this post were provided by Stemilt Growers.
A croissant sandwich filled with crisp apples, honey ham, melted mozzarella, and a drizzle of honey. These honey apple ham croissant melts are delicious as a fall breakfast.
Is it odd that the moment it became officially fall it suddenly really feels like fall?
I know we’re still in September, but I’m already soo excited and ready for Halloween, for the leaves to change colors, for pumpkin desserts, for maple flavored everything, for apple cider, for Thanksgiving, and seriously, for some really good comfort food.
I wanted to start simple today. Something super easy to make yet so delicious.
I recently came across croissant buns while shopping for groceries and I became so obsessed with them. They’d be so perfect for breakfast, don’t you think? Especially for eggs benedict.
But today, I wanted to make croissant melts. These croissant sandwiches are filled with melted mozzarella, honey ham, thin slices of crisp, sweet, and tangy apples, and topped with a drizzle of honey. So simple yet filled with flavor and texture. It’s my kind of go to breakfast. Hopefully it’ll be yours too.
A couple weeks ago, Stemilt Growers reached out to me to ask if I’d be interested in trying their SweeTango apples, which tastes similar to honeycrisp. Of course, I wanted to try them. If you’ve had honeycrisp apples and loved them, you’ll love these SweeTango apples too. They’re so good on their own with a sweet and tart flavor. Every bite has an amazing crunch.
So rather than baking with them like I normally would with so many apples on hand, I wanted to showcase the flavor and freshness of these apples as an ingredient in these crossiant sandwiches. I love that these apples give the croissant melts an extra crunch and a taste of what fall has to offer.
Preheat the toaster oven to about 350F.
Place mozzarella on one half of the croissant and top with a slice or two of honey ham. Heat the croissant in the toaster oven until the cheese has melted, about 3-5 minutes.
Remove the croissant halves from the oven and top with slices of apples. Drizzle with honey, and top with the other croissant halves.
Serve the honey apple ham croissant melts warm.
Enjoy!
Oh, and just in case you’re wondering, the photo below is of two croissant melts stacked on top of each other =)
- 2 croissants or croissant buns, sliced in half
- 2-3 ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 2-4 slices of honey ham
- 1 small apple, thinly sliced
- Honey for drizzling
- Preheat the toaster oven to about 350F.

Remove the croissant halves from the oven and top with slices of apples. Drizzle with honey, and top with the other croissant halves.
