A combination of popcorn, various nuts, and rice crackers tossed in furikake rice seasoning. This popcorn, nuts, rice crackers snack mix is delicious and great as an afternoon snack or while traveling.
My sister is going to Disneyland this week without me! She’s celebrating her boyfriend’s birthday, but still! I can be jealous.
Honestly though, Disneyland isn’t worth it for me. Because I’m terrified of roller coasters. I don’t like the loops, the drops, or that feeling like my stomach is leaping everywhere. Which means roller coasters are out. Did I mention I don’t like heights? Yeah… Amusement parks are not worth it for me, especially since it’s over $100 per ticket these days. lol
But since the drive to Southern California is long, my sister is going to need something to snack on. Plus, in just a little over a month, I’ll be headed to Long Beach to go on a cruise to Ensenada. I’m sooo excited! 2017 = new adventures.
So it’s time to start planning. =)
First, let’s talk snacks.
I have a confession to make. I’m a total snack hoarder. I like to buy a bunch of snacks because I get tired of eating just one type easily. My snack box (yes, I have a box filled with only snacks) is soo full. Sometimes it holds a little of everything: a handful of tortilla chips, a half bag of Skinny Popcorn, a snack size pouch of nuts. I thought I could combine a few of my favorites, add some seasoning, and turn it into something new, and totally perfect for snacking.
Have you had furikake rice seasoning before? Usually you find it in Japanese food and poki bowls.Or you can add it to your authentic ramen noodle soups. They’re kind of addictive. And when I add them to rice, I swear I can eat rice all by itself.
So, add popcorn, various nuts, and rice crackers then toss them with furikake rice seasoning. Almost too simple to be a recipe. But I’m sharing it anyway!
And enjoy your new snack!
- 1 cup popcorn
- 1 cup rice crackers
- ½ cup whole or chopped nuts
- 2 tablespoons furikake rice seasoning
- Toss all the ingredients together in a large bowl, and enjoy.
