Burrata topped with fresh thyme and salt and pepper then served with strawberry jam and toasted bread. This fresh thyme salt and pepper burrata with strawberry jam is the perfect starter.
Happy Sunday!
I’m so excited! I’ve been waiting to share this little treat with you ever since I returned from vacation in Seattle. I know how simple this dish may seem, but I swear it is sooo good. And you know when it’s good, I have to recreate it at home.
My sister Victoria and I went to an oyster bar our first night in Seattle. Located in Ballard, The Walrus and the Carpenter offered seven types of oysters. We went during happy hour, which means that we could try as many as we want for just half the price. So of course, we wanted to try one of each. In addition to the raw oysters, we also ordered a couple of the small plates. My favorite? Burrata topped with fresh thyme, salt, and pepper served over strawberry jam and a side of grilled bread.
I know that it sounds so simple, but the flavor was absolutely amazing. Sweet strawberry jam, creamy burrata, flaky salt, fresh ground pepper, fresh thyme, grilled bread. Simple, easy, and soo delicious. It’s quickly becoming my favorite.
All the flavors and textures come so well together, and it makes the perfect small plate to accompany your meal. Or a starter for your meal. Or a snack plate for your get together. It’s honestly perfect any way you want to serve it.
Place strawberry jam on a plate. Top with fresh burrata. Add a pinch of salt on top of the burrata and add freshly ground black peppers. Finish with a sprig of thyme leaves.
