    hope you can help how do I had link and badge to the side of my blog or will i need to get wordpress.org in order to do that. thanks for any help you can give.

      You have to use widgets. On your dashboard, look for appearance. Widget will appear in the drop down menu. With badges, there should be a link/code that you can put into the widget in your side bar. Hope that helps.
