I am so obsessed with spring because of all the pretty colorful flowers in bloom. It’s been raining so much these past few months so the arrival of spring is definitely welcomed. So many flowers like lilies, tulips, and ranunculus are in bloom now.
But cherry blossoms are one of my favorites.
The cherry blossoms are in full bloom in Golden Gate Park, and they are especially gorgeous in the Japanese Tea Garden. If you’re in the San Francisco area, you should definitely make it a priority to visit the Japanese Tea Garden while the cherry blossoms are still in bloom.
It’s been really difficult to do normal every day things lately, and even more so right after my grandma’s funeral. I think part of it is that prior to the ceremony, it was easy to pretend that none of it had happened. But during and after the ceremony, it became a reality.
Normally, on my day off, I would go shopping for ingredients, create dishes, plate them, and photograph them. But lately, I just haven’t had the inspiration. It’s been so hard to get back into routine. And I needed to do something different.
I seriously love the koi fish!
My sister and I both had last Wednesday off, so we went to Golden Gate Park and then out to lunch. I needed an escape. And the Japanese Tea Garden felt like the perfect place for it. Since I went early in the morning, right when they opened, it was quiet and serene, for the most part.
Isn’t the Japanese Tea Garden so pretty? Have you been before? And what is your favorite local getaway spot? I would love to hear from you!

This place is spectacular! And the view reminds me of the movie “Kung fu Panda” 😀
