Chex cereal tossed with pretzels, nuts, and bugles in spicy togarashi seasoning. This togarashi chex mix is packed full of flavor and perfect for snacking.
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup corn syrup
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 ½ cups Chex cereal
  • 1 cup mini pretzels
  • 2 cups Bugles
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • ¾ cup cashews
  • ¾ cups macadamia nuts
  • 2 tablespoons furikake seasoning
  • 2 – 2 ½ tablespoons togarashi seasoning
  1. Preheat the oven to 225F.
  2. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Melt the butter and granulated sugar in a small pot over low heat. Once the sugar has melted, remove from heat and mix in vegetable oil, corn syrup, and soy sauce until well incorporated.
  4. Place Chex cereal, mini pretzels, Bugles, walnuts, cashews, and macadamia nuts into a large mixing bowl. Pour the butter mixture over the cereal mixture and toss until well coated. Add furikake seasoning and togarashi seasoning into the bowl. Toss until all the cereal is covered in the seasoning.
  5. Divide the cereal mixture onto the baking sheets. Bake the snack mix for about an hour or until the cereal is dry. Remove the Chex mix from the oven every 15 minutes and toss to prevent the cereal from browning too quickly or becoming burnt. Ovens sometimes have hot spots.
  6. Let the togarashi chex mix cool before placing them into airtight containers.
  7. Serve the togarashi chex mix as a snack or you can give them as gifts.
