Cinnamon Swirled Maple Pumpkin Bread

Pumpkin bread baked with swirls of cinnamon sugar and notes of maple. This cinnamon swirled maple pumpkin bread tastes like fall.
Ingredients
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¼ teaspoon cloves
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1½ cup pumpkin puree
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup buttermilk
Cinnamon Sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Line a 9x5 inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together all purpose flour, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, and ground cloves, and baking soda until combined. Set aside for now.
  3. In medium mixing bowl, whisk together vegetable oil, brown sugar, vanilla extract, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, eggs, and buttermilk until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and mix with either a mixer or whisk until combined.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together ground cinnamon and brown sugar until well combined. Set aside this cinnamon sugar for now.
  6. Pour half the pumpkin batter into the loaf pan. Smooth with a spatula. Now, add half of the cinnamon sugar over the batter. Pour the rest of the batter on top. Use the spatula to spread the batter out evenly. Add the rest of the cinnamon sugar on top. Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon sugar into the batter.
  7. Bake the cinnamon swirled maple pumpkin bread for about 50-60 minutes. Use a toothpick to insert into the bread. If the toothpick comes out clean, the bread is done. If not, bake for a few minutes more.
  8. Allow the bread to cool before cutting into it.
  9. Serve the cinnamon swirled maple pumpkin bread warm.
