Matcha Green Tea Croissant French Toast Bake

Torn up croissants with hints of matcha green tea baked until the center is custardy and the top is crispy. This matcha green tea croissant french toast bake is a delicious choice for breakfast.
Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons matcha powder
  • 1 cup vanilla almond milk
  • 3 large eggs, cracked and beatened
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 4 large croissants, torn up into bite size pieces
For serving
  • Matcha Powder
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Condensed Milk
  • Maple Syrup
Directions:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Lightly grease a 9 inch pie dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a medium sized bowl, add a little bit of milk and matcha green tea powder. Whisk until a paste forms and doesn’t appear powdery. Add eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and the rest of the milk. Then whisk until well combined.
  3. Tear up croissants into bite size pieces and then add them to the mixing bowl. Mix the croissant pieces with the matcha egg mixture until all the croissants are well coated.
  4. Pour the coated croissants into the prepared pie dish, and bake for about 25-30 minutes until the tops have browned. Allow the matcha green tea croissant french toast bake to cool for a few minutes before sifting matcha green tea powder and powdered sugar on top.
  5. Slice the croissant french toast into 4-6 portions. Serve the matcha green tea croissant french toast warm topped with condensed milk or maple syrup.
