Cinnamon Swirled Chocolate Chip Bread

Warm slices of bread filled with melted semi sweet chocolate chips and swirls of cinnamon sugar. This cinnamon swirled chocolate chip bread is perfect for breakfast or as a snack.
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 large egg
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
Cinnamon Sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Lightly grease a 9x5inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray or vegetable oil. Set aside for now.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all purpose flour with baking soda.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together egg with brown sugar and granulated sugar. Whisk in buttermilk, vanilla extract, and vegetable oil until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and mix until just combined. Then mix in the semi sweet chocolate chips.
  5. Pour half of the batter into the loaf pan.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together cinnamon and brown sugar. Add this cinnamon sugar into the loaf pan. Then pour the rest of the batter into the pan.
  7. Use a knife to swirl the batter so that cinnamon sugar is mixed into the batter. You can top the batter with extra chocolate chips if you like.
  8. Bake the cinnamon swirled chocolate chip bread in the oven for about 45-50 minutes. Insert a toothpick into the center. If the toothpick comes out clean, it is ready. Allow the bread to cool for several minutes before slicing.
  9. Serve the cinnamon swirl chocolate chip bread warm or cool.
