Creamy steel cut oatmeal with a hint of vanilla and maple topped with frosted blackberries and pistachio. This maple vanilla steel cut oatmeal is delicious and perfect for starting your morning.
Ingredients
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup steel cut oats
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1½ - 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons almond milk
For serving
  • Fresh berries
  • Frozen berries
  • Dried fruits
  • Chopped Nuts
  • Extract almond milk for drizzling
Directions:
  1. In a small pot, add steel cut oats and water over medium heat. Cook the oats for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are cooked through and the consistency is to your liking.
  2. Stir in almond milk, maple syrup, and vanilla extract, and cook for an additional 10 minutes. The steel cut oatmeal will be creamy, and the texture will be chewy.
  3. Top the maple vanilla steel cut oatmeal with your favorite toppings. I used frosted blackberries and pistachios.
