Are you a fan of pasta?

Growing up, pasta was a staple in our house. At least once a week, we would have spaghetti tossed in tomato sauce. Of course, our mom would add a few extra ingredients to elevate the pasta experience. Sometimes it’s onions and mushrooms, other times red bell pepper and celery. Or ground meat and spinach. I love that it’s so easy to customize a pasta dish to our taste. And on a weeknight, nothing compares to the simplicity of spaghetti tossed in a delicious high quality tomato sauce.

These days, spaghetti and tomato sauce remind me of family dinners when my sisters and I were young. And so, I love adding pasta night to our meal plans. It’s a great way to gather together and eat with very little stress and effort.

Today, for this recipe, I’m using Victoria’s Basil Sauce to toss my spaghetti in. Victoria Pasta Sauces are committed to “Ingredients Come First!” so all the ingredients used to make this sauce are high quality and fresh with no preservatives or added salt and sugar. I love that you can taste the acidity of the Italian tomatoes, the fresh garlic and basil, and the fresh onions. It makes the pasta sauce taste homemade. And it reminds me of the days when our mom would make us pasta for dinner.

In a large pot, heat water until it comes to a boil. Add spaghetti to the water and cook according to the directions on the packaging until al dente. About 8-10 minutes. Remove the spaghetti from heat, drain, and set aside.

While the spaghetti is cooking, in a medium sized pan, add a little bit of olive oil over low to medium heat. Cook garlic, onions, and mushrooms until the mushrooms are tender. Pour the tomato sauce into the pan. Allow the tomato sauce to come to a simmer. Add heavy cream and stir until combined.

I am a pasta girl! I love it. In many forms, Lasagna, angel hair, and shells. I love marinara sauce and with cheese. I make my sauce from scratch, but used to use canned sauce and spice it up a bit. I love it any way I can get it. Thanks for posting. I will reblog.
