A couple days ago I shared with you my Strawberry Citrus Yogurt Dressing. So of course, today, I have to share with you a salad to go with that salad dressing, right?

I love gourmet salads. I’m not really into simple salads like Caesar or even the classic Garden salad. I want my salads to be filled with a ton of ingredients. Like fresh fruits, dried fruits, nuts, proteins, cheese. You know, everything. And if you know me, you’ll also know that I love eating in color too.

Have you been to salad buffets? Like California Fresh (formerly Fresh Choice) or Sweet Tomatoes? They have salad bars with so many different ingredients that you can add to your plate. I used to go to these all the time in college. Probably because I have this weird love for buffets. It’s not because I could eat as much as I want. Most of the time, I probably don’t eat my money’s worth. It’s more because I can pick whatever I want. And I think it could be a fun social event. Am I the only one who feels this way?

Oh wells.

Anyway, when I make salads, it’s all about the various fresh ingredients I can add to them. In this particular salad, I added bite size pieces of romaine lettuce, two different types of tomatoes, avocado, strawberries, blackberries, walnuts. And if I had raspberries and blueberries on hand, I would totally add them too. That doesn’t mean you can’t =)

And salads are sooo easy to make. It’s all about washing, cutting, and tossing.

Then of course, the drizzle of the salad dressing.

Enjoy!

Andrea this looks delicious and refreshing! Perfect for when it gets hot and I don’t feel much like eating. I would like to participate in your Friday recipe exchange sometime. I bet it is a great way to find new things to try in my kitchen!
