Shishito peppers lightly tossed in garlic, sesame oil, and soy sauce then blistered in a hot skillet. These blistered sesame shishito peppers are delicious as a starter or as a snack.
Ingredients
  • 6 oz shishito peppers
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil
  • ¾ teaspoon soy sauce
  • Toasted sesame seeds
  • Furikake rice seasoning
Directions:
  1. Toss the shishito peppers in sesame oil and soy sauce until all the peppers are lightly coated.
  2. In a small or medium skillet, add vegetable oil and heat it over low heat. Once the vegetable oil is heated, add minced garlic and cook until lightly browned. Leave the vegetable oil in the pan, but remove the garlic and set it aside for now.
  3. Turn the heat up. Once the vegetable oil is hot, add the shishito peppers to the skillet. Cook them until all the sides are blistered. Toss the shishito peppers with the garlic.
  4. Serve the blistered sesame shishito peppers with a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds or furikake seasoning on top.
