It’s almost the weekend!

I can’t believe it’s the last weekend of January. And since it’s also Lunar New Year this Saturday, I’m going to be busy with all the festivities (aka lots of eating) and visiting family. Is anyone else celebrating?

Sometimes, when family and friends come over, I don’t really have time to make snacks or desserts. So I like to rely on recipes that are super easy to make with very few ingredients.

One of my favorite recipe hacks is using crescent rolls to create snacks and desserts. Like these ham and cheese crescent rolls.

All you need is a few ingredients that you might already have at home: crescent roll dough, thin slices of ham or turkey, and shredded cheese. Place them in the oven and you have snacks ready for your guests or a delicious after school snack for your kids. And it just takes about 20 minutes or so to prep and bake.

Preheat the oven to 375F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or with a silicone mat.

Open the cans of crescents rolls and separate the triangles.

Cut the slices of ham in half. One slice of ham will be too big for the crescent rolls so you have to cut them in half to make them smaller.

Add about a tablespoon of shredded cheese to the center of the cut ham, and fold the ham into fourths. Some of the cheese may fall out and that’s okay too.

Place the ham at the base of the triangle, opposite to the pointed end. Roll the crescent roll towards the pointed side. Bend the two ends to create the crescent shape.

Place these crescent rolls on the baking sheet, and bake for about 10-13 minutes or until the tops are golden brown.
